Thema: Monty Python Teil 2 – „Das Leben des Brian“ etc. – passend zum Fastnachts-Samstag erinnern wir uns an den begnadet komischen Kultfilm von Monty Python „Das Leben des Brian“, der in diesem Jahr sein 30-jähriges Jubiläum feiert.

Wer erinnert sich nicht an die makaber witzige Schluß-Szene des Kult- Films „Das Leben des Brian“ von Monty Python, in der Brian am Kreuz hängt und gemeinsam mit anderen Gekreuzigten die finale Hymne singt und pfeift, und dabei rhythmisch im Takt der Musik mit dem Kopf hin und herwackelt: „Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life“. Dieser berühmte Song ist das Leitmotiv des neuen Monty Python-Musicals „Spamalot“, das kürzlich in Köln erfolgreich Premiere feierte. Diesen Songklassiker kann man aber auch „digitally remastered“ genießen. Alle acht Alben, die zwischen 1971 und 1983 von der genialen Comedy-Truppe Monty Python herausgebracht wurden, sind – digital überarbeitet – wiederveröffentlicht worden. Hier kann man nachhören, welche Bedeutung die Mannen von Monty Python als Urväter der europäischen Comedy-Szene bis heute haben. Sie entwickelten als erste das genre-typische Repertoire an überdrehter Slapstick-Kunst, absurden Nonsens-Dialogen, bitterbös tiefschwarzem Humor und  ebenso wortspielerischem wie hinterfotzigem Klamauk- Wahnsinn.

Der zweite Teil dreht sich vor allem um den Filmsoundtrack „Monty Python’s Life Of Brian“, die Musik zum begnadet komischen Kinofilm, der vor 30 Jahren unter dem Titel „Das Leben des Brian“ auch in Deutschland für Furore sorgte – und den unsterblichen Ruhm der britischen Komikertruppe Monty Python besiegelte. Außerdem sind neben dem Schwerpunktthema auch die besten Songs aus den acht Original-Alben von Monty Python zu hören, darunter die geradezu visionäre Warnung „Never Be Rude To An Arab“, oder die ironische  Lobhudelei über die Chinesen („I Like Chinese, They Only Come Up To Your Knees“), Und auf jeden Fall wird der Kramladen auch den Index-Song in ByteFM spielen: „I Bet You, They Won’t Play This Song On The Radio“.
